On the subject of Gratitude

Raindrops and Rainbows mixing color anew

Breezing forth through the early morning view

Startling sunsets and glorious sunrises

Wonderful chimes that sing lilting rhymes

twinkling stars and flower studded vistas

coffee brewed by skilful baristas

smiling faces and joyful souls

shining clouds on the heaven rolls

the striking sun , the calming moon

the winter chill will follow autumn soon

The sparkling springing colourful spring

soon bright days of summer will bring

Oh blessed souls that inhabit this earth

Pray should of gratitude there be dearth?

Wonderful colours

Shining waters

Patchwork fields

drifting clouds

grounded brown summits

Geometry of Life

Life is full of twists and turns
circles and squares
and many a sector
be sure to measure the angles of life
with an accurate protractor!

Makes me smile..as I read this out to my daughter
I wrote it first when I was introduced to Geometry in school. It finally got into all my class autograph books ...repeatedly used...Would not be surprised if this surfaces from elsewhere as well.

As years pass by

the tree looks around

standing for eons in the forest...

a lifetime to talk about

the turtle walks by the tree

and reminiscences its' childhood

with the tree - then a sapling

What is a lifetime really?

 they ponder....

An elephant walks by

and they remember it playing

joyfully amongst the trees

near the river , even when

they had been grown up

The swallow 's 20th generation

still has a nest on the same tree

and she joins their song to say

What is a lifetime really?

The planet shrugs and says

Centuries cooled and then warmth

to enable life , variety and multitude

So much more will happen

and smile as they hear the chatter

twirling and swirling 

they say
